Resting Therapy as part of the Heliotherapy
Visible light
Through favorable climatic conditions in altitude, processes that are inbred in man and are necessary for men's health are set in motion. Part of this process is the effect of daylight (luminosity) on man while being outdoor.
On the mountain, in the town of Sulden, daylight has a much brighter spectrum as in the plain, under permanent fog (inversion layer) lasting most of the year. This phenomenon is because of a higher steam rate in the air, but it gets amplified in summer when sunbeams almost vertically reach the ground. Heliotherapy prevents and cures dysfunctions and diseases that can be traced back to light deficit.
Intense radiation
Even sunlight, in particular the UV-B rays of the visible spectrum, if we avoid excessive exposure, benefit our body and soul. If we expose ourselves correctly to sun it leads to positive physiological effects, like the vitamin D3 Synthesis, which strengthens the immune system, boosts bone metabolism, gives vitality and is naturally anticarcinogenic.
The intensity of UV-B radiations on this altitude is 60% stronger than radiations on the sea level. The reflections of sunbeams on the snow – covered glacier raise the intensity to 100%. A characteristic of the climate of Sulden is, than differently from the plain, the strength of UV radiations remains the same all over the year, which is necessary for the healing process.
